Anyone can give advice, but you decide whether or not it’s good advice.
There’s a lot of people out there that are all to willing to give you advice on how you should live your life.
You know what they say. Opinions are like assholes. Everyone’s got one.
Sometimes though, you really need some advice. Sometimes, you seek out advice because what you’ve tried hasn’t worked.
Sometimes, you need some words of wisdom.
In golf, this happens a lot. When you just can’t seem to get you’re swing right, you’ve got to find something to get it back on track.
There’s millions of ways to find advice out there. From taking lessons at a golf course to watching YouTube videos, there is no shortage of advice to be heard.
Even in regular life, we find ourselves searching for some kind of advice in times of need. I’ve even found myself reading into the smallest of things hoping to find some meaning in them.
But with all the information and ideas out in the world today, how do we know which way to go? How do we know what advice will give us our desired results?
To be honest, I can’t say for certain. Some things work for one person while they wouldn’t work for me. The things that work for me might not work for you.
Only you can know what’s right for you.
Anyone can give advice, but you decide whether or not it’s good advice.
It’s something you’ve got to feel in your heart.
Only you know your true path, and only you know what calls out to you.
This isn’t to say that all coaches or advice is bad, you just have to figure out which parts to keep and which to throw away.
I’ve seen a lot of good golfers spoiled by bad advice.
So be weary of what advice you allow to shape your narrative. Question it and put it to the test.
The right advice will pass each one and stand the test of time.
